摘要: Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) intoxication in rodents is a commonly used model of both acute and chronic liver injury. induced hepatic injury as measured by alterations serum enzymes histopathological changes were investigated Swiss Albino mice (Musmusculus). Mice divided into two groups: control group carbon administered group. A single dose CCl4 (0.8 ml/kg body weight, sc) was given hepatotoxicity investigated, when sacrificed at 1, 3, 7 days treatment 3 6 months post treat - ment. The manifested biochemically significant elevation the enzyme activities alanine aminotransferase (ALT, EC: 2.6.1.2), aspartate (AST, 2.6.1.1), alkaline phosphatase (ALP, 3.1.3.1) bilirubin after treatment. While months, levels reached to their normal or near values. toxicity further evidenced hydropic degeneration, congestion sinusoids, vacuolation cytoplasm centrilobular necrosis mice. It concluded that potent hepatotoxin with 0.8ml/kg weight.
