摘要: Twenty female and 45 male middle long-distance runners, in training for the U.S. Olympic Trials, served as subjects. Ninety percent of both men women subjects reached Trials; eight 12 qualified Games five won medals. Each subject completed a VO2max series submax treadmill runs, purpose comparing heart rate (HR), VO2, blood lactate (HLa) among runners various event specialties. Results showed to be taller, heavier, have lower six-site skinfold sum higher VO2max, than (P less 0.05); there was no difference age. When compared running economy, used oxygen (ml.min-1.kg-1) at common absolute velocities, but VO2 (ml.km-1.kg-1) not different between equal relative intensities (%VO2max). were compared, significantly more economical, using any method comparison. Also, when comparisons economy made, it found that had an even greater advantage over "matched" mean comparison all In looking SD (800-/1500-m runners), MD (3-K/5-K/10-K runners) LD (marathon least speeds marathon race pace faster, slower speeds. Men responded similarly this regard. Running data typical paces, tended show most suggesting which are tested plays important part determining economical. It concluded economical women, expressed ml.km-1.kg-1 gender differences similar running. or matched, better aerobic profile. is recommended collected up 90% VO2max.
