摘要: Medium access control MAC protocols play a vital role in wireless networking. It is well-known that the high overhead of IEEE 802.11 limiting factor on throughput and delay performance networks. In our prior work, three polling service-based medium PSMACs are developed to amortize over multiple frame transmissions, thus achieving higher efficiency. Both analysis simulations conducted validate efficacy proposed protocols. this paper, we extend work by implementing distributed version PSMAC, i.e., PSMAC 2, GNU Radio universal software radio peripheral Radio/USRP platform. We discuss various design considerations challenges prototyping 2 carry out extensive experimental studies with testbed. Our results found be consistent theoretical study reported advantages under realistic channels. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
