摘要: Purpose. Residual neuromuscular blockade (RNMB) is known to be a significant but frequently overlooked complication after the use of blocking agents (NMBA). Aim this prospective audit was investigate incidence and severity RNMB at our Australian tertiary pediatric center. Methods. All children receiving NMBA during anesthesia were included over 5-week period end 2011 (Mondays Fridays; 8 a.m.–6 p.m.). At surgery, directly prior tracheal extubation, train-of-four (TOF) ratio assessed quantitatively. Data related patient postoperative outcome collected in acute care unit. Results. 64 patients analyzed. Neostigmine given 34 cases sugammadex 1 patient. The 28.1% overall (without reversal: 19.4%; neostigmine: 37.5%; n.s.). Severe (TOF < 0.7) found 6.5% both no reversal neostigmine, respectively. Complications unit infrequent, with differences between groups. Conclusions. In audit, observed, particularly where reversed neostigmine. These findings underline well-known problems associated that are not fully reversed.
