Is Hovering Smothering or Loving? An Examination of Parental Warmth as a Moderator of Relations Between Helicopter Parenting and Emerging Adults’ Indices of Adjustment

摘要: The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating role parental warmth in relation between helicopter parenting and indices child adjustment (i.e., self-worth school engagement) maladjustment risk behaviors) emerging adulthood. Participants included 438 undergraduate students from four universities United States (Mage= 19.65, SD = 2.00, range 18–29; 320 women). Regression analyses established that increased associated with lower levels higher behaviors for those adults who reported low maternal their parents (especially mothers), but not high warmth. discussion focuses on importance adult perceptions parent–child relationship.
