Prospects for the precision measurement of the W mass with the CMS detector at the LHC

摘要: The precise measurement of the mass W boson constitutes an important consistency check Standard Model and, together with top quark mass, is sensitive to supersymmetric corrections. In this note, methods are presented which employ large number Z bosons produced at LHC significantly reduce theoretical and experimental uncertainties on measurement. A precision about 40 MeV (20 MeV) first 1 fb -1 (10 ) integrated luminosity during low run expected.
