摘要: Biodiesel is an alternative diesel fuel consisting of the alkyl monoesters fatty acids from vegetable oils or animal fats. Currently, most biodiesel made soybean oil, methanol, and alkaline catalyst. However, there are large amounts fats that unsuitable for human consumption could be converted to at lower cost. The problem with processing these waste they often contain free cannot using These react catalyst produce soaps inhibit separation biodiesel, glycerin, wash water. Previous research has developed a process pretreating high acid feedstocks catalysts which do not form soaps. objective this study was construct pilot plant wide variety including those acids. A 190-liter batch been built can acid-catalyzed pretreatment followed by alkaline-catalyzed transesterification. Case studies plant-scale production yellow grease 9% acids, brown 40% presented. effect varying reaction parameters discussed washing processes described. Estimates cost different also provided.
