摘要: Cells use many strategies to repair genomic damage caused by environmental agents and arising from the natural instability of polynucleotide structure. Nucleotide excision is most versatile DNA pathway main defense mammalian cells against UV-induced damage. Defects in proteins involved this can lead inherited disorders (such as xeroderma pigmentosum, Cockayne's syndrome trichothiodystrophy) that are associated with hypersensitivity sunlight. Most genes these syndromes have now been identified. Study UV-sensitive yeast RAD mutants has greatly aided process revealed strong conservation components nucleotide eukaryotes. It recently become clear some dual functions also participate basal transcription replication.
