摘要: Previous anthropology emphasized symbolic incantations at the expense of embodied practice magic. Foregrounding embodi- ment and performance in war magic warrior religion collapses mind-body dualism versus rationality, instead highlighting social action, innovation, revitalization tradition, as tempered historically by colonial post-colonial trajectories societies under- going rapid transformation. Religion are re-evaluated from perspective practitioner's victim's embodiment their experiential life-worlds via articles discussing Chinese exorcists, Javanese spirit siblings, Sumatran black magic, Tamil Tiger suicide bombers, Chamorro spiritual re-enchantment, tantric Buddhist Yanomami dark shamans. Central themes include violence healing, accomplished through ritual performance, to unleash and/or control power gods, demons, ghosts dead.
