摘要: A diverse representation of algal species are common bloom producers in the tidal waters Virginia tributaries that enter Chesapeake Bay. In lower more saline regions these rivers dinoflagellates major producers. Their increased abundance and occurrence generally follows spring diatom continues into summer autumn. These include diatoms Skeletonema potamos, costatum, Cerataulina pelagica, Leptocylindrus minimus, plus Akashiwo sanguinea, Cochlodinium polykrikoides, Heterocapsa rotundata, triquetra, Prorocentrum minimum, Scrippsiella trochoidea. Of producer York James is polykrikoides. Also occurring downstream recognized toxin Alexandrium monilatum, Chattonella subsalsa, Karlodinium veneficum. contrast, freshwater commonly would produce cyanobacteria blooms, including those by Microcystis aeruginosa.
