摘要: Objective To determine the prevalence of chronic complications and associated factors in type 2 diabetes 500 diabetic patients, age > or = 25 years, attending clinic Diabetic Association Pakistan (DAP), Karachi. Methods Every 5th registered patient years age, was examined for presence/absence micro macro vascular factors. Blood samples were collected HbA1c, lipid profile serum creatinine. Urine albumin microalbumin. Results Of patients (160 males, 340 females, mean 55.2 10.6 years), retinopathy seen 43%, neuropathy 39.6% foot ulcers 4%. Nephropathy found 20.2%, significantly with hypertension. The microvascular higher group HbA1c 8% related to duration diabetes, hypertension obesity. Hypertension manifest 64.6% 61% had raised Body Mass Index Waist Hip Ratio more than normal 88% subjects. Macrovascular encountered 102 angina 85 (17%), heart attack (5%) stroke 13 (2.6%).
