摘要: A comprehensive study on the dynamic behaviour of fractured Koyna dam during earthquakes is performed using distinct element method (DEM). The extensional functions earthquake input and hydrodynamic simulation have been incorporated into current program. choosing damping by properties each part system, mesh dependency ground motion amplification are discussed in detail. Results show that safety ensured if crack shape horizontal or upstream-sloped; however, it very dangerous slopes downstream. whole failure processes two possible modes cracked dam, i.e. overturning sliding top separated block under abnormal conditions, also simulated. Some important phenomena such as bounce relationship examined
