摘要: Objective: To evaluate two automated amplification systems for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis in urogenital specimens, Cobas Amplicor (Roche Diagnostic Systems, Branchburg, NJ) and LCx (Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, IL). Study Design: The were compared testing specimens from 302 high-risk patients, including 98 female cervical swab 204 male urine specimens. patients attended state STD clinic Reykjavik, Iceland, either because symptoms or as a result contract tracing. Results: prevalence C. infection was 15.3% women 13.2% men. For sensitivity specificity 100% 99.4% 74.1% LCx. In swabs, both detected all 15 true-positive internal control used with inhibition 2% 20% respectively. Conclusion: demonstrated slightly better than LCX Both offer benefits automation routine diagnostic testing.
