摘要: A numerical solution scheme for the Einstein field equations based on generalized harmonic coordinates is described, focusing details not provided before in literature and that are of particular relevance to binary black hole problem. This includes demonstrations effectiveness constraint damping, how time slicing can be controlled through use a source function evolution equation. In addition, some results from an ongoing study coalescence, where holes formed via scalar collapse, shown. Scalar fields offer convenient route exploring certain aspects interactions, one interesting, though tentative suggestion this early behavior reminiscent "zoom-whirl" orbits particle trajectories also present merger equal mass, non-spinning binaries, with appropriately fine-tuned initial conditions.
