摘要: Medication adherence among youth living with HIV (28%-69%) is often insufficient for viral suppression. The psychosocial context of barriers complex. We sought to qualitatively understand behaviorally infected and perinatally develop an intervention specific their needs. conducted in-depth interviews 30 (aged 14-24 years) analyzed transcripts using the constant comparative method. Barriers were influenced by clinical factors. Perinatally included reactance, complicated regimens, fatigue, difficulty transitioning autonomous care. Behaviorally HIV-related shame initiating medication. Both groups reported low risk perception, medication as a reminder HIV, nondisclosure, but described different contexts these common barriers. Common unique emerged reflecting varying experiences contexts. developed customizable addressing identified antecedents.
