摘要: This study focused on changes in demographic, social, and health-care patterns pregnancy outcome related to maternal age from 1978-79 1994 Ribeirao Preto, Sao Paulo State, Brazil. Information was obtained two cohorts of singleton live births, 6,681 births 1978/79 2,839 1994. A standardized questionnaire submitted mothers after delivery, demographic information collected official records. There a significant increase teenage pregnancies (from 5.1% 7.4%) decrease infant mortality (36/1,000 17/1,000). were decreases the proportion with low schooling (24.5% 14.4%), smoking (28.9% 21.%), multiparity (14.7% 9.0%). Prenatal coverage improved 23.4% 9.0% patients fewer than 4 prenatal visits), while cesareans increased 30.6% 50.8%), as did preterm delivery (7.2% 13.6%) birthweight 10.6%). Despite improvements some characteristics, pregnancies, deliveries, birthweight, increased, raising concerns about health costs consequences for infants.
