What does caring mean to nursing and social work students

摘要: Aim The aim of this study in Lithuania was to discover how the meaning caring is perceived by nursing and social work students. Background Nursing are professions, which provide care different ways. It still unclear what features constitute for students as future professionals. Methods Snowball sampling technique applied study. The data were collected reflective narratives. Data analysed using qualitative content analysis. Findings For students, comprises mission, proficiency, values collaboration. These overlap, but implementation dependent on particular profession. Discussion Nursing describe holistic assistance patient/client: mission both. However, tasks, responsibilities focus providing a patient/client differ both professions. Limitations Reflective narratives preferred semi-structured interviews. researchers did not contact participants person ask them additional questions. Conclusion The developmental phenomenon, depends professional philosophy, practice, continuing learning experience. Nursing perceive it way thinking about individual's being profession acting collaboratively wellbeing others. Implications health policy Focus (post)graduate education premise shift training from self- other-centred, mono- multi-disciplinary approach. This related practices towards effective patient-centred team-working within system, with spotlight caring.
