摘要: Abstract We have investigated the effects of cladding etching in arc-induced long-period fiber gratings. Comparing position resonant wavelengths at each diameter with corresponding theoretical dispersion curves effective refractive index, it is found that some resonances show a better match anti-symmetrical modes, while others symmetrical modes. Etching to ∼39 μm, results coupling high-order mode very sensitive changes ambient index. The peak shifts remarkably (∼230 nm) toward shorter as external index increases. This sensitivity higher than any previously reported
