摘要: Halite lying above the potash-rich interval of Permian Upper Evaporite Group northeast Yorkshire, England, is intimately associated with fine red clastics in such a way as strongly to suggest that former originated by nucleation and growth within latter. It inferred this process took place distal sediments mature basin-margin plain, probably belt subject repeated inundation caused periodic large-scale expansions contractions an extensive basin-centre playa. Such environment consistent generally shallow-water continental origin underlying Carnallitic Marl overlying Marls, contrasts deep-basin depositional model customarily applied Zechstein evaporites.
