摘要: Objective Guided by the recently established histological criteria of gastroesophageal junction (GEJ), we aimed to investigate and compare trends in proportions small (≤2 cm) proximal gastric carcinoma (PGC) vs non-PGC (NPGC) Chinese patients over an 8-year period. Methods The study was conducted with consecutive surgical resected specimens PGC that located within 3 cm below GEJ NPGC (located at all other regions) treated a single medical center China. Differences between two groups were compared. Results Among 313 cases, 111 (35.5%) classified as remaining 202 (64.5%) NPGC. Patients significantly elder than those NPGC, none aged younger 40 years. The progressively increased from 16% 2004 45% 2011, contrast steady decreasing trend for 84% 55% same period. difference approached, but not statistically significant level (P = 0.08). Proportions cancers corpus female remained low stable, higher proportion male (P < 0.05). Conclusions Our data showed upward-shifting PGC, primarily elderly patients, downward shifting most recent period patients.
