摘要: Aim: To observe the effects of glass-ionomer cement (GIC) lining on risk pulpal complications in deep occlusal cavities with resin-based restorations. Methods: Fifty-three patients, aged 18–30 years, who had one or two carious lesions (3 mm depth) molars, were recruited. Dental caries removed, and prepared cavity was restored resin composite using restorative procedures: (a) without GIC lining; (b) (resin-modified) lining. Restored teeth evaluated for any (subjective symptoms, objective signs loss tooth vitality) at 1 month (baseline), year, 2 years after restoration. Results: After excluding shallow cavities, 31 restorations lining, placed recalled baseline complications. At 1- 2-year recalls, six patients group 1, 13 2, dropped out. None remaining groups exhibited either recall period, regardless placement. Conclusions: The absence does not increase short long term.
