摘要: BACKGROUND Healthy, productive employees are an integral part of school health programs. There have been few assessments work productivity among secondary staff. This study describes the frequency 3 common risk factors—obesity, depressive symptoms, and smoking—and their impact on in employees. METHODS Employees schools Massachusetts (N = 630) participated a longitudinal weight gain prevention intervention study. Assessment completed at baseline, 1-year 2-year follow-up included survey factors as well measurements for height, weight, body mass index (BMI). The also depression inventory Work Limitations Questionnaire. Data analysis multivariate mixed effect models to identify differences relation BMI, smoking this population stratified by position type (teacher other staff). RESULTS The sample 361 teachers 269 Obesity, were significantly associated with productivity, including workdays missed because concerns (absenteeism) decreases on-the-job (presenteeism). CONCLUSIONS Three conditions, namely obesity, smoking, adversely affect high employees.
