摘要: This study was conducted on 3212 Saudi families to investigate the prevalence of consanguineous marriages. The were interviewed and information relationship between husband wife obtained. overall rate consanguinity shows that 57.7% screened consanguineous. most frequent first cousin marriages (28.4%) followed by distant relative (15.2%) second (14.6%). grouped according province their origin rates calculated accordingly. There slight differences in five provinces, which ranged from 52.1% 67.7%. In each frequently encountered pattern, ranging 17.9% 40.9%. inbreeding coefficient (F) for 0.020 0.030. Within province, there several significant among populations different areas. highest 80.6% Samtah lowest around 34% Abha South Western province. These results place Arabia countries world with a high consanguinity. possible consequences increased are presented discussed.
