摘要: Abstract Aims Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are considered the prime source of cancer recurrence, metastasis, and progression represent important targets for developing novel anticancer agents therapeutic strategies. The aim this study was to investigate effect treating breast CSCs with flavonoid, quercetin. Main methods We examined changes in cluster differentiation CD44 + /CD24 − CSC population behavior using cell line MCF-7. Key findings Our results indicated that viability, clone formation, mammosphere generation, nude mice tumor metastasis were inhibited MCF-7 exhibited G1-phase arrest after quercetin treatment. Additionally, CyclinD1 B lymphoma-2 expression suppressed Bcl-2-like protein-4 enhanced also observed estrogen receptor α phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt/mammalian target rapamycin (mTOR) signaling downregulated concurrently inhibition viability formation. suggested treatment promoted weaker malignant activity associated relative normal through its PI3K/Akt/mTOR-signaling pathway. Significance These potential cancer.
