摘要: Objective. – To evaluate the long-term efficacy of steroid injection for plantar fasciitis using clinical parameters and high-resolution ultrasonography. Material methods. Thirty patients (27 female three male) with 30 healthy controls matched by age, gender body mass index (BMI), were enrolled in this study. Seventeen had bilateral 13 had unilateral (six right, seven left) fasciitis. Palpation-guided was applied to 47 heels 30 plantar patients. Ultrasound examination pain intensity visual analog scale (VAS) assessed times each patients; before at 1 and 6 months after injection. Ultrasonography performed initial assessment. Results. The fascia remarkably thicker group than (P < 0.001). thickness mean VAS values decreased significantly 1 month (P < 0.001, P < 0.001, respectively) a further decrease noted postinjection respectively). Strong correlation found between changes r: 0.61) 0.49) incidence hypoechoic 73% It (33% 7%, respectively, P < 0.001). Gross disruption or other side effects not observed injection. Conclusion. Steroid could be used treatment its positive effects.
