Temperature Dependence of Nonlinear Optical Coefficients in Ferroelectric NaNO2

摘要: In ferroelectric NaNO2, optical rotation as a function of temperature was found to be linearly proportional the spontaneous polarization temperature. When single‐domain crystal switched by applying dc electric field, sense reversed. Multiple‐domain crystals exhibited no net rotation. The behavior is explained in terms long‐range order parameter and symmetry. It concluded that coefficients for nonlinear effects which are elements odd‐rank tensors will have similar dependence. predicted dependence each second‐harmonic coefficient Xijl given Xijl(T)=KijlPz0(T), where Kijl constant P0 polarization. This prediction good agreement with measurements reported Yanagi et al.
