摘要: The formation of crystalline zinc soaps (zinc salts fatty acids) in oil paint layers is a common sign degradation. In this study, we have used infrared spectroscopy to systematically identify differences structure and composition soap phases, report data analysis methods for attribution challenging samples. Supported by reported crystal structures, it was possible distinguish two distinct types geometry: highly symmetrical packing long-chain saturated (type B) an alternating with short, unsaturated, or dicarboxylic chains A). These can be identified single split asymmetric COO stretch vibration band. With new information, studied the formed white model cross-section from painting Equations Space Lawren Harris. Using non-negative matrix factorization, band integration position maps, clearly azelate map its spatial distribution. same showed that contained both within layer, less appearing only at interface ground layer. results give valuable information on internal chemistry layers, demonstrated find widespread application in-depth microscopy data.
