摘要: The present study was aimed to the evaluation of toxicological impact insecticide cartap hydrochloride on photosynthesis and nitrogen assimilation a non-heterocystous cyanoprokaryote Leptolyngbya foveolarum isolated from paddy fields Punjab, India. microorganism tolerated commercial grade up 80 ppm. Lower concentration (20 ppm) supported good growth with high dry weight biomass, total protein content, photosynthetic pigments, respiration compared untreated control cultures while higher concentrations (40 60 inhibited these parameters in dose dependent manner. Treatment ppm lowered content pigments maximum inhibitory effect phycoerythrin (70% decrease) followed by allophycocyanin (66% decrease). Rates were 63% 45%, respectively, PS-I, II whole chain activity decreased 67% 40% cultures. Cartap at nitrate nitrite uptake 31% 61%, whereas ammonium slightly increased (18%) (60 treated cells. Nitrate reductase, glutamine synthetase activities 36-50% cartap. low levels growth, assimilating enzymes cells grown depleted medium supplement indicated that may be used organism as source.
