摘要: In many applications, the quality of data gathered by sensor networks is directly related to signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) being transmitted in networks. Different from SNR that often used measuring communication links, this work measures how accurately network packets represent physical parameters sensed. Hence, signal here refers are monitored networks; noise due environmental interference and circuit noises at nodes, packet loss during transmission. While issues affecting nodes have been intensively investigated, impact on has not attracted significant attention design. This paper investigates shows dramatically affected loss. A metric, based SNR, developed a cross-layer adaptive scheme presented minimize degradation congested The proposed consists downsampling bit truncation intelligent traffic management techniques level. Simulation results demonstrate validity effectiveness techniques.
