摘要: Abstract The nucleotide sequences of a mouse pseudo alpha-globin gene and two adult genes from rabbit were compared. A close examination sequence differences among the three revealed that was derived one about 24 million years ago by duplication lost its original function, presumably due to loss both intervening or frameshift mutations prevented production functional globin polypeptide, eventually became an inactive 17 ago. After this event, evolved at very high rate, approximately 1.9 times rate synonymous codon change in productive genes. This suggests presence constraints against changes normally functioning also "nucleotide arrangements" serve almost no important functions beside protein coding ability greater part gene, except for limited number nucleotides. continuous stretch consisting third exon 5' half 3' noncoding region shows marked homology suggesting transfer globin-like recombination recently.
