摘要: A new optical film is proposed to reduce angular color shifts of liquid crystal displays (LCDs). The composed microstructures induce the light mixing by deflection and reflection at microstructure surfaces. simulation scheme was developed predict based on geometrical optics, applied design optimize microstructures. Among various studied, parallel grooves with parabolic cross sections were found be most efficient in redistributing light. Experimental verification UV micro-imprinting method conducted show can 50% or more for 13 primary secondary colors a super-patterned vertical alignment (S-PVA) LCD, greatly grey inversion twisted nematic (TN) LCDs as well.
