摘要: ABSTRACT. In fourteen releases, most female D.radicum (L.) (Diptera, Anthomyiidae) flew upwind or at an angle to it of less than 77° regardless the presence host-plant odour. Females ready lay eggs without prior stimulation by odours from either a host crop trap releasing up 3 ml/day attractant allylisothiocyanate. Upwind flight was more pronounced in flies diapause continuous, non-diapause culture. Males culture dispersed and downwind equal numbers; old males mainly downwind. But, like females, upwind. Long-distance, odour-modulated anemotaxis did not appear be used locate distant crops sex. It is concluded that distances insect orientation plant recorded date are only intermediate range, long-range still has proven. suggested volatiles involved final stage location but also first, probably important selection whilst flight.
