摘要: Knowledge is the preeminent resource of firms that wish to become and/or remain globally competitive. This especially true for emerging market multinationals, whose ability overcome their inherent disadvantages as latecomers relies heavily on seek knowledge outside home borders through foreign direct investment. Our conceptual framework explores drivers knowledge-seeking investment, types functional sought, and impact location choice entry mode decisions. It argued EMNE outward FDI not based traditional asset-exploitation model FDI, but rather tends be focused asset-augmentation exploitation unique circumstances. Specifically, this work posits an EMNE’s strategic orientation predicts its propensity engage in type sought mode.
