Can water quality problems motivate conventional farmers to convert to organic farming

摘要: Recently, the conservation of water resources has become a major issue because increasing problems pollutions by agriculture. In this context, organic farming (OF) is seen some institutions as promising solution for responding to problem its regulation that prohibits use chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Recent policies in France have focussed on promoting OF development, especially catchments’ areas contaminated Our hypothesis existence quality locally can be motivation conventional farmers convert OF. This research based 65 farmers’ interviews (mainly few who recently converted OF) were carried out 4 different catchment encountering pollution problems. A qualitative analysis was identify conceptions their occupation vision professional excellence. Six farmer profiles been identified depending farmer’s perception question declared willingness results show local lead farming. Furthermore, actions set develop respond reach not part classical pool “potential converters”.
