摘要: The marine diatom Thalassiosira jluvintilis was grown in a continuous culture system at 20°C on 12:12 L:D cycle over series of nutrient- and light-limited dilution rates. Bannister’s theoretical model describing nutrient-saturated growth gave an excellent fit to the data. A simple extension allows description nutrient-limited as well. Dark carbon loss rates were range lo-20% daytime production >0.25*d-‘. relationship hctwcen Chl n:C ratios rate linear under nutrient limitation independent type limiting nutrient. Productivity indices found be hyperbolic function rate. N:C linearly correlated with dihltion llnder both light limitation, but regressions having opposite signs.
