摘要: Abstract Animal husbandry and arable farming in some West African countries are analysed with respect to the potential of natural resources. It is demonstrated that low soil fertility often major constraint for production, both food grains vegetation. The result quality organic material used as forage also low, which constrains animal production. shows a trend moving southwards becoming more sedentary, decreases production leads changing targets. Arable without use external inputs increasingly exhausts soil, risk degradation. integration strengthens former, but hardly improves argued only remedy agriculture region increased per unit area by application inputs. This will require price policy make it economically viable, can be achieved through solidarity international community agricultural trade policies.
