摘要: Hawkmoths (Theretra capensis and Hyles lineata livornica) pollinated the orchid Bonatea speciosa at a forested site along southern Cape coast of South Africa. The flowers B. are strongly evening-scented hawkmoth activity was confined to short period 40 minutes after dusk on each evening observation. pollinaria exceptionally elongated (c. 20 mm in length) affixed eyes hawkmoths. Pollinaria attached feeding hawkmoths brushed over long stigmatic arms which project front flowers. have toothlike process mouth spur forces moths enter flower from either side. As result, only one is removed during visit. division into two functional units by distinguishes floral mechanism other Habenariinae.
