摘要: The position of mountain streams high in the channel network and their proportional dominance mean that modifications adjustments within these systems will have important implications for downstream processes linkages. This study develops an analysis framework examining catchment-scale distribution reach morphologies, relationship among type, catchment lithology flow competence southeast Australian streams. is applied to three catchments which contrasting proportions two dominant lithologies region, Devonian granites Ordovician metasediments. model successfully delineated 68% types, resultant spatial maps allowed effects stream specific controls on morphology be evaluated. Maximum lengths majority types were second-order maximum number (six) was present third-order streams, with dramatic reductions type variability as expands. structure recognized more than aerial extent a particular abundance morphologies. provides tool management networks protection or restoration ecological diversity, by identifying river segments tributaries morphological diversity.
