Guiding-center Hamiltonian for figure-8 particles in axisymmetric field-reversed configurations

摘要: The guiding‐center Hamiltonian K is derived for so‐called ’’figure‐8’’ particles which are present in field‐reversed mirror configurations, using a formalism developed previously. For such particles, the gyro‐orbit cannot be approximated by circle, and thus standard approches to theory totally inapplicable. manifests this intrinsic difference quite different dependence on gyro‐action, familiar effects as mirroring magnetic‐gradient drifts being controlled radial derivative of magnetic field strength B at point reversal, rather than itself, occurs theory.
