Visceral larva migrans mimicking rheumatic diseases

摘要: Objective. To report rheumatologic or rheumatologic-like manifestations of the visceral larva migrans (VLM) syndrome. Methods. We carried out a prospective study patients with VLM seen in private practice setting Mexico City between 1990 and 1993. Resells. From population 600 we identified 6 (5 women) VLM. Three complained arthralgia; 4 history migratory cutaneous lesions was elicited, one monoarthritis right knee found. One patient had deep edema that suggested thrombophlebitis arm; man our series testicular swelling during followup. In 2 cases, panniculitis documented by biopsy one, small vessel vasculitis. Four frequent contact dogs cats; frequently ate raw fish. The diagnosis confirmed either clinical picture, biopsy, ELISA. Conclusion. spectrum rheumatological may be wider than previously thought
