摘要: PO2 measurements have been made for the first time within retina and vitreous of cat eyes to compare normal photocoagulated areas. This was done test hypothesis that observed beneficial effects pan-retinal photocoagulation therapy in treatment retinal vascular diseases with an ischemic origin, may be due more oxygen becoming available remaining functioning retina. A xenon arc photocoagulator used photocoagulate large areas retinas served by one major set vessels while leaving untouched. After 6 months acute experiment performed which vitreal tension profiles were measured using oxygen-sensitive microelectrodes regions, two ventilation conditions: air 100% O2. The only differences values found O2 breathing condition, where overlying larger It is proposed any distribution occur are masked autoregulatory capacity circulation buffering hemoglobin.
