A preliminary survey of dermatomycoses in Bangalore

摘要: Clinical and mycological investigations were made on 225 cases of suspected dermatomycoses. Of these, 102 microscopically positive. But only 63 culturally positive, these are analysed here with regard to clinical patterns aetiological species, age, sex occupational incidence susceptibility griseofulvinin vitro. As in most other parts India,Trichophyton rubrum was the dominant species. A high proportion ofEpidermophyton floccosum an unusual feature seen. types, tinea cruris common. The isolates sensitive griseofulvin at low concentrations 1 5µg per ml agar medium,E. being sensitive.
