摘要: Total body water increases in pregnancy and while the uterus, placenta, fetus, amniotic fluid constitute part of this increase, largest component is extracellular water. Fat stores also increase thus distribution volumes all drugs expand, but major effect seen polar which are confined to space. Cardiac output renal function elimination accelerated. In contrast, lipophilic may be retarded, on intermediate variable. Polar cross placenta slowly accumulate therefore fetal gut lumen. Lipophilic rapidly their transplacental dependent relative maternal affinity: determined largely by protein binding either side placenta. The fetus neonate dispose less than adults, most efficient processes being sulphate conjugation excretion.
