摘要: Delignified densified wood is a new promising and sustainable material that possesses the potential to replace synthetic materials, such as glass fiber reinforced composites, due its excellent mechanical properties. wood, however, rather fragile in wet state, which makes handling shaping challenging. Here we present two fabrication processes, closed-mold densification vacuum densification, produce high-performance cellulose composites based on delignified including an assessment of their advantages limitations. Further, suggest strategies for how can be re-used or decomposed at end-of-life cycle. Closed-mold has advantage no elaborate lab equipment needed. Simple screw clamps press used densification. We recommend this method small parts with simple geometries large radii curvature. Vacuum open-mold process suitable larger objects complex geometries, Compared process, approach only needs manufacture single mold cavity.
