摘要: The common marmoset, a New World monkey, requires large amount of vitamin D3 to maintain its normal growth. This monkey is reported have an end-organ resistance 1α,25-dihydroxyvitamin (1α, 25(OH)2D3). In this study, the bone morphology marmosets fed high diet (intake D3, 110 IU/day/100 g body weight) was compared by X-ray and histological examinations with that rhesus monkeys (Old monkey) 5 weight). Three 20 were found examination osteomalacic changes in their bones despite daily intake whereas none showed any signs osteomalacica. Osteomalacic had distinct incrases osteoid surface, relative volume, active osteoclastic resorption, nonosteomalacic no increase tissues bones. None marmosets, either or nonosteomalacic, hypercalcemic extremely circulating levels 1α,25(OH)2D3. However, serum 25-hydroxy (25OHD3) 24R,25-dihydroxyvitamin (24R,25(OH)2D3) significantly lower than marmosets. These results suggest marmoset likely exhibit D3. resemble those D-dependent rickets, type II.
