摘要: Staphylococcus aureus infections are associated with diverse clinical manifestations leading to significant morbidity and mortality. To define the role of host response in disease, we characterized whole blood transcriptional profiles children hospitalized community-acquired S. infection phenotyped bacterial strains isolated. The overall was by over-expression innate immunity hematopoiesis related genes under-expression adaptive immunity. We assessed individual using modular fingerprints combined molecular distance health (MDTH), a numerical score perturbation as compared healthy controls. observed heterogeneity signatures MDTH, they were influenced type presentation, extent dissemination, time sampling course infection, but not isolate. System analysis approaches provide new understanding disease pathogenesis relation/interaction between manifestations.
