摘要: SUMMARY The structures and constituents of fire residue high-impact polystyrene/organically modified montmorillonite (HIPS/OMMT) nanocomposite during burning was investigated using scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction elementary analysis techniques based on quenched samples obtained the cone calorimeter test. It found that HIPS/OMMT tends to form a two-layer structure surface material. This contains thin condensed skin layer at top loose expanded cellular under layer. The many small sizes voids, while includes large number large-size voids. Both layers are composed mainly platelets, which aggregated nanoscale network structure, in certain amounts carbonaceous char components trapped but decompose above approximately 550°C presence oxygen. Finally, an idealized model put forward explain featured residues for studied. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
