摘要: The molecular composition of basement membranes (BMs) has traditionally been investigated by candidate-based approaches leading to the identification key structural components as described in previous chapters. Laminins, collagen IV, nidogens, perlecan, and type XV/XVIII are integral BMs with isoforms showing tissue specificity. More recently application mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics led discovery many more regulatory broadly, extracellular matrix (ECM). These investigations have revealed tissue-specific signatures between 100 150 ECM components, demonstrating complexity niche. In addition providing a scaffold for cells, is dynamic environment capable regulating physical properties tissues. Global turn enable systems level analyses when applied health disease states these provide insights into pathways dysregulation. This chapter focuses on methods used extract analysis its using MS-based proteomics, it provides examples how investigate states.
