摘要: Levels of sequence variation in mitochondrial cytochrome-b gene were examined to ascertain if this molecule can provide a reference point making decisions concerning species-level distinctions. DNA-sequence data from 4 genera rodents (Neotoma, Reithrodontomys, Peromyscus, and Sigmodon) and 7 bats (Artibeus, Carollia, Chiroderma, Dermanura, Glossophaga, Rhinophylla, and Uroderma), including recognized sister species, develop hypotheses for evaluating levels variation. Several patterns associated with emerged study. Specifically, genetic distance values ,2% indicative intraspecific variation; between 2 11% had high probability being conspecific populations or valid species merit additional study specific status; .11% recognition. It appears that may be useful determination boundaries under the framework Genetic Species Concept.
