摘要: This paper examines the "connection"between higher education and economic development in Massachusetts, a state whose renowned academic institutions have fueled rise of premier high technology industrial district. But aftermath to abrupt demise “Massachusetts Miracle”, system sought develop new mandate for public service 90s keyed upgrading state's base coordinating with labor market needs. These growing involvements manifestly vocational endeavors seem reflect major shift models that articulate education-economic “connection” Massachusetts. Thus, it appears elite model “world-class” research university sparking numerous industry spin-offs has been joined by newer diffusion-oriented outreach extend out from community colleges into workplace even K-12 schools.
